Open Gate

Today, I spent most of the day painting. Though it was cold outside, even snowing at one point, I was cozy in my studio dreaming of spring and warm days to come.

First I sketched......

...........then began filling in the colors. I used oil paints and really enjoyed mixing all these yellows and greens.

Then came all the details, like the limbs and leaves.

The painting is 48" x 36". Oil on canvas (gallery wrapped). These photos didn't turn out very well. There is a glare on the tree. I'll try again tomorrow.

Open for me the gates where the righteous enter, and I will go in and thank the Lord.
Those gates lead to the presence of the Lord, and the godly enter there. I thank you for answering my prayer and saving me! Psalm 118: 19-21
