Emerson

IMG_5020IMG_5023IMG_5022

Last week Emme came to town! First stop. The Fieldhouse. We took ‘Pop’s’ lunch.

IMG_5024IMG_5027IMG_5028

Next, I gave Emme a tour of the athletic complex. Football stadium, baseball field,

dugout, batting cage, practice fields. She found it quite entertaining and was especially

happy to find a chain bracelet (cheap and broken – so you wont think poorly or me for

keeping it) which she wouldn’t take off.

On the way home we stopped by to visit her buddy Tate. Which I’m happy to report,

‘she did not hit’ this time. In fact they had a blast drawing, jumping and running. We had

a fun day and words can not express how much I enjoyed spending a few days with Emme.

She is ADORABLE! I wish I had counted how many times I heard her sweet voice say,

“I thank you so very much”. My heart melted every time.

IMG_5035IMG_5032

The following morning, I delighted in watching this adorable little girl eat her cheerios. With the

exception of the few spoonful’s she shared with the Schnauzers, Mitzi and Abby, she did very well.

While finishing up I noticed that Emme was picking up the Cheerios and putting them on the spoon.

As I moved in close for a picture, I heard her whisper to one particular Cheerio, “Let me get you.”

IMG_5048IMG_5049

After breakfast we headed back to Tate’s for a little more fun! And speaking of fun, is this a great

idea? Tate’s mom Cassi, turned the short wall under their eating counter, which tends to collect

lot’s of footprints, into a giant chalkboard by simply painting it with flat black paint. I love this

idea for families of all ages! Just think of all the fun messages you could write on this!

In fact, it’s such a great idea I decided to “pin it!” to Pintrest! As well as her fun dining room!

Don’t you love the BIG, 6 x 4 foot sign? Look at the kid’s drawing table located in the

foyer/hall/wasted space under the huge Ikea map. This entire house screams, “FUN'”!!!

Nest for Sale!

Occasionally, someone will ask me if my paintings are for sale and the answer is an enthusiastic yes! The truth of the matter is I would love to sell my art. Especially now that I have a fully stocked studio, right here at home and will be painting up a storm in the days ahead. I have sold a lot of art over the years. Mostly through designers, a few shows and retail stores but moving a lot over the years has made it difficult to keep those connections.

I use to worry a lot about it but that sort of squelched my creativity and took the fun out of painting. So, I decided during the past year with another move behind us to take a new approach. One that makes my heart happy and makes my mind take a sigh of relief. In the days ahead I will simply paint what brings me joy, asking God to pour His beauty through me and onto the canvas and trust Him to provide a buyer.

Last week I painted this big grassy nest sitting on a bed of rocks. I really like it!

So if you love it and you'd like to buy it, I'll pack it up and ship it to you!

The details: Dimensions - 40" x 30", medium - Acrylic on stretched canvas, cost - $450.

Email me at www.roxannespradlin@yahoo.com with questions or kind words. Thank you.

Survivor….tonight!

survivor-samoa-20090827101925755_640w_thumb[32]

Tonight’s the night. It’s finally here! Eighteen castaways will hit the beach to compete in the 24th season

of Survivor.  Our crazy amazing daughter Kimberly will be one of them!  We still can’t grasp it. Many

of you know her well but for those who have not had the pleasure of watching her grow up, here are

a few highlights from her past. Were convinced that the combination of her life experiences will

benefit her in the CBS competition.

Here we go! 1) Kimberly is athletic. She played soccer, basketball, fast pitch softball all through her

childhood and when she was in high school, she was on a State Championship volleyball team. She’s a competitor! A team player. Yet, she knows how to lead.

2) Kim loves to laugh and have fun. Play awkward jokes on people. She treats everyone like family and she has lot’s of friends! Everyone likes Kim.

3) She is brave. The word ‘caution’ is not in her vocabulary.  She would spin on roller blades, ski off mountains, fly to the moon and back in a bungee chair, jump off tall bridges, raft through dangerous white water and travel foreign lands. She loves adventure and turns everything into a fun game.

4) She’s a natural beauty… glows from the inside out. She is confident, kind and kooky. A good combination.

5) She is tough and fearless. She has a good head on her shoulders.  She is real tall.

6) She is not afraid to take a risk…it runs in the family.

Water makes her smile. Sun and sand are her friends. Storms are her favorite!
