Juice ideas!
If you’re here and reading this page chances are your
interested in the wonderful world of juicing. Though
new to the whole nutritious scene, I’ve discovered first
hand the benefits of drinking and eating vegetables
and fruits only, for a period of time. In January 2013,
I began a juice fast that lasted 48 days. Not only did I
break 100 old habits and re-educate myself nutritionally
but I also lost 30 lbs. I can’t get over how easy it was
once I got focused and got my juice face on. The first
few days were the hardest but when I stepped on the
scales on day 3 and had lost 6 pounds, I was sold!
If you plan to juice your going to need to buy a juicer
I started off with a Bella Kitchen, 700 watts, that
cost $29.99. It worked just fine but started smoking
one day after about 100 juicing's. Then I went to Sam's
and bought another Bella Kitchen, 1000 watts, for
$50.00, which broke today while juicing beets. So,
I’m seriously thinking about buying a Breville Juice
Fountain Plus, tomorrow at Bed Bath and Beyond.
Another thing your going to need is fresh vegetables!
I usually shop at the grocery store but now that the
Farmer’s Market has opened, I’ll be buying local
organic produce. Sun food Farms, (thanks Marty)
sells a big box, brimming with beautiful vegetables
for $10, $15 and $20. They also have a convenient
drop off, in town two days a week at Scott and White.
So with a juicer and fresh vegetables and fruits,
your ready to get started!
Just wash everything, dry and store everything. When your juicing
several times a day, it’s so nice to have your produce ready to go.
It’s JUICE TIME!
The first time you juice, I suggest you keep it simple. I tried grapefruit
and loved the color, aroma and taste!
Next you can try a combinations like this:
Very tasty! I’m sure you’ll agree!
Just wash, juice, drink and enjoy the amazing benefits! You’re on your
way to better health!
YOU GLOW GIRL!!!
Get creative and have fun! Juicing can be lot’s of fun! Like a mad scientist,
I enjoyed hovering over the juicer in delight and discover. Below are the
“formulas” I concocted and photographed with my iphone and gladly
share in hopes that they will help you on your juice journey.
Juice to go!
Fresh juice is full of enzymes. So the best way to drink juice is within
the first 10 minutes of extracting it but if you work or travel you can
take it with you. Here’s how: Fill a clean mason jar to the top,
tighten the lid and refrigerate or ice down. Use within 1-2 days.
It may be a little bit of trouble but it’s the way the go when you are on
the move!
Protein Shakes
Salads
Avocado, celery, cilantro, cherry tomatoes and salsa. Sprinkle with
some hemp and chia seeds and enjoy every bite:)
Kale Chips
