Recently, I got a phone call. Jennifer, a young 'first time mom' needed a little help with her baby nursery. When I arrived for the consultation, I was delighted with her bedding selection. She had gone to Antropologie, bought a duvet and bed skirt and then hired a seamstress to make custom baby bedding for her. What a fresh idea!
The room colors were great! Jennifer's mom painted wide verticle stripes on the crib wall. Long dotted linen panels draped the room's only window.
A super soft upholstered chair and dark espresso-stained furniture provided a beautiful, rich contrast.

gorgeous lamp illuminates a kiwi silk shade which casts a lovely glow over the entire room.
After visiting with Jennifer and studying the room, I decided to paint a large gallery-wrapped, 3 x 4 canvas with an over-scaled botanical design, inspired by a leaf on the Antropologie bedding.
Upon delivery, I propped the art up on the crib and took a quick picture. Jennifer and her mom were happy. We all agreed, the room was complete.
Oh!..except for one tiny but oh so important detail...
....baby Emerson!
The painted canvas is beautiful. Was that free hand or did you have a template? If so, can you share where you got it? Thanks!
